Launch of Gender e-training Module for the Senior Civil Servant

For the first time in Mongolia, an e-learning training module on gender issues has been made available for senior civil servants. A pilot testing has engaged participants in discussions to improve the e-learning module that will allow for course content to evolve.

This module was developed under the Technical Assistance financed by Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, administered and implemented by the Asian Development Bank and Government of Mongolia.

40 participants, who are in management positions in Ministry of Finance and its affiliated agencies, were introduced e-learning training sessions as well as actively involved in discussions on improving the module during the training.

The content of the module includes the main concept of gender, knowledge and information on the legal issues around gender equality. The benefits of this particular training for senior civil servants are that e-learning enables participants to work within their schedule and that e-learning content is available on participant’s chosen devices for them to complete in a space appropriate for them.

The purpose of the e-learning platform is to improve knowledge of gender equality within public sector management. The content developers plan to make the e-learning module a certified criteria for completing “Entry assessment of the public servant at the managerial level”.
