University Journalism Course Adds Gender Equality and the Combatting Gender Based Violence To It’s Curriculum

The Mongolian National University has added content on gender equality to its Journalism program. As part of the “National Program on Gender equality”, the Secretariat of the National Committee on Gender Equality has added content promoting understanding of gender equality and combatting gender based violence to several course subjects.

Under the plan, the Curriculum Committee of the University’s School of Journalism approved the new required contents to nine different training subjects, and included gender in students’ assessment lists and as a topic for undergraduate diploma theses.

As part of an ongoing initiative to integrate gender sensitivity into education, further activities are planned for different levels of training courses for journalism students and practitioners.
